Planting Cucumbers

To maximize the numbers of cucumbers you will harvest, try planting your cucumbers in raised beds. Space your cucumbers at least a foot apart and work plenty of manure into the soil. You can let cucumber vines simply run, or you can train them up trellises or wire.

I think i have waited to long to do the trellise, but i have a question about color. My cucumbers started off light green and after a week they have turned yellow. What causes that? Thank you for your answer. Shirley

Hi Shirley,

You left them on the vine too long. When they begin to turn yellow they are past their prime.
