When do I plant oriental poppies?

Oriental Poppies

Oriental poppies can be safely planted, transplanted, or divided in August or early fall. Be careful to dig deep enough to get the plant's tap root, which can be quite long. Be sure that the area you are planting the poppies in is in full sun and has well drained soil.
