Tip of the Week

This is prime time for the star of the lawn weeds: crab grass! Once soil temperatures climb between 50 and 55 degrees, the seeds germinate. Use a pre-emergent now, mow your lawn properly, and re-seed bare patches, to slow or halt itīs growth.
One of the best pre-emergents on the market is corn gluten meal. Not only does it effectively eliminate lambs quarters, purslane, oxalis and other weeds, it adds 10% nitrogen to the soil.
