December 7, 2001, Newsletter Issue #100: Bromeliads

Tip of the Week

Watering bromeliads is different then with other plants. You add water to the center cup of the plant, and only keep the soil slightly damp. An occasional misting, twice a week, keeps the leaves clean and provides humidity.
Feed your bromeliad small pieces of banana peel, inserted into its central cup. It will "digest" it over time.
