Tip of the Week

Water your African violets with chamomile tea to stimulate blooming. This is due to potash and tannic acid in tea, which promotes big blooms, and helps retain moisture.
When you bring your new houseplant home, itīs better to repot it in a new container with fresh soil. Simply select a container 1 size larger than the one itīs in. Slip the plant gently from its pot. Gently remove all the old soil and unravel any bound roots. Then, place in its new home. Fertilise and water thoroughly. You will have a much healthier plant this way.
