If you see what appear to be tiny blobs of white lint on your indoor plants, you have mealy bugs. Using a Q-tip dipped in alcohol can damage delicate plant tissues.
There´s a great new product out, for the usual pests that chomp on your houseplants. Aphids, thrips, and mealybugs can all be treated with mite-x. This product is made of neem oil, and is highly effective!
