A Dry Bed for Bulbs

Make sure any flower bed that you are using to plant bulbs is well drained and not boggy. Bulbs rot easily in poorly draining soil. Amend wet clay soil with sand and peat. You may want to place a handful of gravel in the bottom of each planting hole to improve drainage.
