How do I plant magnolia trees?

Planting Magnolia Trees

For many people, the magnolia tree is a symbol of Southern culture. This beautiful flowering tree can grow quite large, but most people prefer smaller specimens. To plant magnolia trees, you should:

1. Choose a sunny location for your tree.

2. Avoid areas where pockets of heavy frost tend to linger, as these trees bloom quite early in the year.

3. Add compost to the planting hole to give the tree a good start.

4. After you place the tree in the planting hole, be sure to water it thoroughly to remove any air pockets.
