Tip of the Week

These lovely plants grow well in the shade, lighting up dark corners with their beautiful and interesting foliage. Lady´s Mantle has a pretty bluish-gray foliage and chartreuse summerflowers. Elderberry, with its deep purple leaves and pink panicles is stunning paired with it.
Japanese maples are a beautiful addition to a semi- to full shade garden. With their graceful branches and gorgeous foliage, they are the perfect focal point for the shade garden.
There are a variety of perennials that tolerate warm shade in hotter locations. These include: bears breeches, begonia, hellebores, and florists cyclamen. You can also try orchid species: cybidium,calanthe and bletilla.

These wildflowers grow well in warm shade: ageratum-wild, columbines, asters, coral bells and cardinal flowers. You can also use turks cap, obedient plant, wild petunia, Indian pinks and spiderworts.
