Tip of the Week

The best way to purchase new trees is balled in burlap or bare root. Burlap is a natural fiber that allows the young trees to breathe. Be sure to remove any plastic ties or wires before planting. Both types of new tree need to be rehydrated before planting. An overnight soak in tepid water and transplant hormone will get them off to a great start.

Disease Resistant Crape Myrtles
Crape Myrtles are beautiful trees but many are prone to diseases such as powdery mildew and leaf spot.

They are:
1. Tonto(fuchsia flowers)
2. Tuscarora(coral pink flowers)
3. Tuskagee(dark pink flowers)
4. Fantasy(white flowers)
